YSSR Statement – November 1, 2022

It has come to our attention that there is some misinformation circulating within our community says that YSSR is “on strike”.  

YSSR and our dedicated volunteers remain trained, equipped, ready, and willing to assist as usual. Our driving goal remains, as it always has been, to serve our community. We are available to assist police and public safety agencies with public safety situations and lost person incidents (including with our Project Lifesaver program). YSSR can only be activated by police and public safety agencies – we never self-activate for a search. If you or someone you know is lost, please call 911 immediately.   

At this time, our membership with our provincial representative association is considered suspended while we address administrative issues. While we work diligently to resolve these issue we want to ensure that our community is aware that we are still here to serve you.

2021 Year in Review

2021 was a year of adjusting to the “new normal” and learning how best to fulfill our mission and mandates under new, ever-changing circumstances. Our team worked hard to adapt, seeking out new ways to train our members, fundraise, and connect with our community.

2021 a été une année d’adaptation à la « nouvelle normalité » et d’apprentissage de la meilleure façon de remplir notre mission et nos mandats dans des circonstances nouvelles et en constante évolution. Notre équipe a travaillé dur pour s’adapter, cherchant de nouvelles façons de former nos membres, de collecter des fonds et de se connecter avec notre communauté.

2020 Year in Review

In 2020 we, like everyone else, dealt with the unprecedented challenges brought on by the global COVID-19 pandemic. We met these challenges head on and adapted, seeking out new ways to train our members, fundraise, and connect with our community.

En 2020, nous avons, comme tout le monde, fait face aux défis sans précédent posés par la pandémie mondiale de COVID-19.
